Monoclonal antibodies such as Avastin, Rituxan, Remicade and others have proven efficacious for a wide range of diseases including cancer and autoimmune diseases. However, scientists believe there is significant room for improvement. Experts discussed novel approaches to improving and designing better antibody therapeutics, including antibody conjugation, modified effector function and humanization to potentially develop more efficacious and safer products to treat an expanding array of diseases.
