Speaker Guidelines

Presentation Format (28 Minute Corporate Presentation)

• All presenters at the BIO InvestorForum 2007 are asked to prepare and submit their presentations in Microsoft PowerPoint for PC.
• Presentations will be limited to 28 minutes in length, including Q&A.  We highly suggest keeping the presentation to 18-20 minutes and reserving 8-10 for Q&A
• Presentations must be submitted on CDs, flash cards, or USB ports.
  

Submit Presentations On Site (California Parlor, Second Floor, Palace Hotel): Immediately upon your arrival at the Palace Hotel, bring your presentation to the Speaker Ready Room (located in California Parlor, Second Floor) to check it in to the Forum.

• Allow time to test the presentation. Your presentation MUST be received in the Speaker Ready Room no later than 4 hours prior to your scheduled presentation. (If your presentation is in the morning be sure to check in your presentation the day before)
• Bring a back-up copy of your presentation with you to the Conference.
  

Speaker Ready Room (California Parlor, Second Floor, Palace Hotel): The staff in the speaker ready room will be available to assist you in reviewing and testing your presentation.

• Only the presenter will have access to the presentation file once it is checked into the Speaker Ready Room server. At the end of each day presentations for that day will be deleted from the presentation room PCs and the server.
• Speaker Ready Room Hours:
  • October 9th    4:00 p.m. – 7:00 p.m.
  • October 10th    7:00 a.m. –  6 :00 p.m.
  • October 11th    7:00 a.m. – 5:00 p.m.
    

Presentation Room: A dedicated computer operator will be assigned to each session room and will advance all slides by presenters.

• At the podium each presenter will have a 17" preview monitor to view their presentations without turning their heads and a "cue light" to prompt the operator to advance their PowerPoint presentation slides.
• No overhead projectors will be provided.
• Each room will be equipped with an electronic timer in full view of the presenter. The 28-minute time limit will be strictly enforced.
• Presenters will NOT be permitted to hook a laptop to the digital projector in the presentation room.
• Microphones will be provided
• Please plan on arriving in your presentation room 30 minutes prior to the start of your presentation.
  

Executive Presentation Workshop Available

Companies that have not previously participated in a CEO Executive Presentation Workshop are expected to attend one on Monday (September 24 for BMA, October 9 for BIF) prior to the conference. This is an intensive, one-day training session aimed at helping presenting CEOs to refine and hone both their formal presentation and their presentation skills. There is no cost for presenters to attend, but representatives of firms that have not yet been selected can also attend for a minimal fee.  More information about dates and schedule can be found here.
