Who's Who
George serves as Head of Investment banking and is a member of the firm's Executive and Operating Committees. He joined Pacific Growth Equities in 1997 as a Managing Director in investment banking working with emerging growth companies, primarily in healthcare and technology. Previously, he was an investment banker with Robertson, Stephens & Company, where he focused on emerging growth technology investment banking. George began his banking career with Pacific Growth Equities in 1993. He received his J.D. from the University of Arizona and his BS in Biology from the University of Southern California.
Matthew Perry is a Portfolio Manager of the Biotechnology Value Fund, L.P. (BVF), a San Francisco-based, private investment partnership focused on the biotechnology industry with assets of approximately $600m. Prior to joining BVF in 1996, Mr. Perry was an account executive with Feinstein Partners; a consulting firm with an emphasis on investor relations for emerging health care companies focused on the discovery, development and commercialization of therapeutics. He was simultaneously an account executive with FPI's affiliate, Kendall Strategies, a business development and strategy consulting firm assisting start-up through large, public biotechnology companies. Mr. Perry is also a co-founder and Director of Nordic Biotech, a European-based venture capital fund. He holds a B.S. degree from the College of William and Mary.
Evan McCulloch is a vice president, portfolio manager and analyst for Franklin Global Advisers. He is the lead portfolio manager of the Franklin Biotechnology Discovery Fund and a co-portfolio manager of the Franklin Global Health Care Fund. He is also the health care sector team leader. Mr. McCulloch specializes in research analysis of biotechnology and emerging pharmaceutical companies, with a therapeutic focus on infectious diseases, ophthalmology, pulmonology, cardiovascular disease, gastroenterology and the central nervous system. Prior research coverage includes the pharmaceutical, medical technology and healthcare service sectors. Mr. McCulloch joined Franklin Templeton in 1992 as a management trainee. He received a bachelor?s degree in economics from the University of California at Berkeley. He is a Chartered Financial Analyst (CFA) and a member of the Association for Investment Management and Research (AIMR) and the Security Analysts of San Francisco (SASF).
